Payments, Subscriptions and Refunds

These Payments, Subscriptions and Refunds terms apply when you pay HangIn or a host through the app. A solicitor-reviewed agreement will replace this notice when it is ready. Your mandatory UK consumer rights are not affected.

Plus, Creator, and Business Pro are billed by Apple or Google. The price on the store purchase sheet is the price that binds you. Plans auto-renew until you cancel in Apple or Google subscription settings. Deleting your HangIn account does not cancel those subscriptions. Use Restore Purchases in Subscribe if you reinstall. HangIn does not currently offer a general consumer free trial; a founder Business Pro trial may apply to specific claimed businesses.

HangIn does not refund App Store or Google Play subscriptions except where Apple or Google require it. Ask Apple or Google for those refunds.

HangIn tickets and cash boosts are charged by Stripe in the app. HangIn is the merchant for those charges and collects the host’s ticket price as a limited collection agent only (to take payment and to run the refunds HangIn’s payments terms require). HangIn adds a 10% platform fee on top of a host’s paid ticket price as HangIn’s own charge. External ticket links are charged by that other website, not HangIn. If HangIn is not VAT-registered, no HangIn VAT is added. If HangIn is VAT-registered, checkout shows VAT on the platform fee and cash boosts.

A HangIn ticket is a licence to attend that host’s event, stored on your account (QR in My Tickets; optional Wallet pass). HangIn does not currently offer official resale, wait list, or ticket transfer. Do not tout tickets or share the QR. Admission also follows the host’s and venue’s rules (ID, age, last entry). HangIn does not refund travel or hotels. Dated event tickets are not covered by the usual 14-day online cooling-off right; the in-app 14-day request window is extra HangIn / host policy. Cash boosts can still have cooling-off until the campaign has started.

Hosts set a refund policy on HangIn tickets (for example no refunds, until event start, or host review). Buyer requests usually have a 14-day window and a 24-hour lock before start, except host-review policy. That 14-day window is a HangIn product rule; dated event tickets are not covered by the usual 14-day online cooling-off right. If a host cancels an event, attendees receive the full amount including the platform fee. Checked-in tickets are not refundable through the standard engine. HangIn does not currently have a dedicated “move this ticket to a new date” tool — if the original event will not happen, the host should cancel so the full-refund path can run. If Stripe cannot create the refund, HangIn does not pay from its own funds; that does not remove your rights if the event is not provided.

Boosts promote content you already posted. HangIn does not guarantee impressions, clicks, or attendance. Plan boost credit is not cash and is not paid out.
