Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how HangIn (“we”) handles information in the HangIn app and on hangin.app. A solicitor-reviewed policy will replace this notice when it is ready. Until then, this is an accurate description of what HangIn collects and uses today.

HangIn is a social map for friends, events, and business listings. Personal accounts must be 17 or older. Business listings do not collect a date of birth.

Account and profile. We collect your email, name, username, profile photos, bio, and (for personal accounts) date of birth to create and run your account. Date of birth is used for the age gate. HangIn does not show your birthday on your public profile. Sign in may use email and password, Google, or Sign in with Apple.

User content. Posts, photos, videos, events, reviews, stories, and messages you send are stored so other people on HangIn can see them according to your settings. You can report posts, profiles, reviews, and messages in the app.

Location. With permission, HangIn uses your location for nearby events and directions. Optional live map sharing with friends can use background location only if you turn that on in Location Controls. Background sharing is off unless you opt in. HangIn keeps the latest pin while sharing is on, not a location history trail.

Device permissions you choose. Contacts (find friends; phone numbers stay on device), calendar (optional event sync), camera, microphone, and photo library for content you create.

Purchases. App Store and Google Play process HangIn Plus, Creator, and Business Pro subscriptions. Stripe processes boosts and event tickets. We receive purchase and entitlement records needed to unlock features, pay hosts, and handle refunds. Cancel subscriptions in Apple or Google subscription settings; deleting HangIn does not cancel them.

Diagnostics. Crash and device identifiers may be processed by Firebase / Google Crashlytics so we can keep the app working.

Who we share with. Google Firebase (hosting, database, auth, storage, crash reports) in europe-west1 / eur3 where configured. Apple and Google for sign-in and in-app purchases. RevenueCat for subscription status. Stripe for cards, tickets, boosts, and payouts. We do not sell your personal information for advertising. HangIn does not use your data to track you across other companies’ apps for ads.

Staff. Named HangIn staff can review safety reports (including short message snapshots) and operate the platform. Firebase project owners can access production data as part of running the service.

Retention and deletion. You can delete your account in the app (Settings → Account → Delete Account) or at https://hangin.app/account-deletion. Your profile is hidden immediately. You have 30 days to cancel. After that HangIn removes profile, posts, and photos it can reach. Messages you sent are blanked in remaining threads. Ticket, payout, boost, legal-acceptance, and safety-report records may be kept for accounting, disputes, or safety. Stripe, RevenueCat, and Crashlytics records are not deleted by HangIn.

Your rights. Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Email the contact above. We will need enough information to find your account.
